Candidate Requirements

Families seek childcare support for a wide range of roles, each with differing levels of responsibility, flexibility and experience requirements.

Whilst some positions may be suitable for candidates who are newer to private childcare, others may require significant nanny experience, specialist qualifications, travel experience, newborn expertise or a proven track record working within private households.

As a general guide, we welcome applications from:

âś“ Experienced career nannies

âś“ Maternity nurses and newborn care professionals

âś“ Nursery practitioners and early years professionals

âś“ Teaching and education professionals

âś“ Childcare professionals transitioning into private childcare

âś“ Family assistants and household support professionals

Applications are assessed on an individual basis, taking into account experience, qualifications, references, professionalism, communication skills and overall suitability for the types of roles we recruit for.

We are passionate about supporting both experienced childcare professionals and those looking to take the next step in their childcare career. Whilst we cannot guarantee placements, we are committed to representing suitable candidates where opportunities arise.

Please note that some family requirements may necessitate specific qualifications, extensive childcare experience or specialist expertise, and not all candidates will be suitable for every role.

Important Information

Registering with The Nanny & Maternity Agency does not guarantee employment.

Whilst we actively support candidates in finding suitable opportunities, placements depend
on a variety of factors, including family requirements, availability, location, experience,
qualifications and overall compatibility.

We are committed to presenting suitable opportunities wherever possible, however we cannot
guarantee that every registered candidate will be offered a position.

Carla Avery, the founder of The Nanny & Maternity Agency.

Founded By Someone Who Has Been In Your Shoes

"Before founding The Nanny & Maternity Agency, I worked as a nanny myself, supporting families in both the UK and internationally.

Having sat on both sides of the placement process, I understand the challenges, expectations and trust involved when searching for the right role.

I believe candidates deserve honesty, professionalism and clear communication throughout the recruitment process. My goal is always to create thoughtful, long-term placements where both families and childcare professionals feel supported, respected and well-matched."
