Join our team of exceptional candidates

We are always looking for kind, skilled, and dedicated nannies and maternity nurses to join our growing network of professionals. Registering with us means joining an agency that genuinely values you, advocates for you and supports your career every step of the way.

By registering with our agency, you’ll gain access to high-quality, well-matched placements with families in the UK and overseas. We focus on building long-term relationships with our candidates and aim to make the process smooth, respectful and transparent.

At The Nanny & Maternity Agency, we believe that excellent communication is at the heart of building strong, lasting relationships with our candidates. Having been candidates ourselves, we understand how frustrating it can feel to send in an application or register with an agency and then hear nothing back. That’s why we pride ourselves on doing things differently.

From the moment you register with us, you’ll receive regular updates and honest feedback, even if we don’t have the perfect role for you straight away. We aim to keep you informed throughout every stage of the process – from initial registration and interviews to job opportunities and beyond. Our team is always on hand to answer questions, offer support, and guide you through your career journey.

We don’t just place candidates – we support them. By registering with us, you’ll join an agency that values transparency, respect, and genuine communication every step of the way.

Please note that although we will try our hardest to find you a placement - registering with our agency does not guarentee employment.

How to register:

To get started, we’ll need to collect the following:

  • A valid form of ID (passport or driving licence)

  • Copies of your qualifications (if any) e.g. CACHE, MNT, Babyem, NNEB, midwifery

  • An up-to-date CV

  • A Paediatric First Aid certificate (we can assist you in arranging this if needed)

  • An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (we can help you apply if needed)

  • At least two references (written references are accepted, but we will follow up directly with your referees for verification)

  • Right to work in the UK and/or internationally, if applicable

  • Public liability insurance (we can help you arrange this if needed)

You can send photos or scans of your documents via email or secure upload—we’ll guide you through each step.

The Interview & Profile Process:

Once your documents are reviewed, we’ll arrange a virtual interview to get to know you better—your experience, your preferences, and the kind of placements you're looking for.

After that, we will create your professional candidate profile using our in-house template. This will be shared with you for approval before it's ever sent to any families.

Staying Connected & Finding Work

  • You’ll be invited to join The Nanny & Maternity Agency’s WhatsApp jobs group (optional), where we post new roles you can apply for directly.

  • If we believe you're particularly well-suited for a role, we'll contact you personally.

  • We’ll always ask for your permission before presenting your profile to any family.

  • Throughout your placement, we're available to support you with any questions, concerns, or issues that arise—you’re never alone.

Registering with us means more than finding your next job—it’s joining a supportive and professional community that’s committed to your success. We look forward to working with you!

Candidate FAQ's

Do I need formal qualifications to register?
Not always. While many of our candidates hold childcare qualifications such as CACHE, NNEB, MNT, or midwifery, we also work with experienced professionals who can demonstrate strong references and proven hands-on childcare skills.

Do I need a DBS check to apply?
Yes — all candidates must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service before starting a role. If you don’t yet have one, we can guide you through the application process.

Do I need Paediatric First Aid training?
Yes — all our candidates must have a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate. If yours has expired or you don’t yet have one, we can recommend trusted training providers to help you arrange this.

Do you accept overseas candidates?
Yes — we place candidates internationally as well as across the UK. If you are applying from outside the UK, you will need to show your right to work documentation for placements in your chosen location.

What if I don’t have public liability insurance?
Don’t worry — we can point you towards specialist providers and help you arrange the correct cover before starting a role.

Will I get regular updates about roles?
Absolutely. Unlike many agencies, we keep in regular contact with our candidates. You’ll be invited to join our optional WhatsApp jobs group, and we’ll also contact you directly if we believe you’re well-suited to a particular role. We will also keep in touch to receive updates on your situation and availability.

Do you share my details with families without permission?
Never. Your professional profile will only be sent to families after you’ve approved it and given us permission to put you forward for a role.

Do you support me once I’m placed?
Yes — we don’t stop supporting you once you start a role. Our team is always available to help with any questions, concerns, or issues that arise during your placement.

Do you charge candidates a fee?
No — our services are completely free for candidates. Our agency fees are paid by the families who hire through us.
